Checklist of NSR Registration Process

Checklist of information needed and procedure for making of your NSR profile and documents which may be refer for finishing NSR registration.

First Stage: NSR Web Registration

The first step is to visit the official website of the NSR

For registration, you require fifteen minutes of internet access and printer connectivity.

The next step is to click on the link “Register Now”, a new window is open by the website, and shown the process of registration, fees as well as registration terms and conditions. You need to read these terms and conditions.

On the NSR website, enter the following details:

Registration Requested By

Here you can choose one of the three given options.

  • By present employer
  • Another company (if prospective employer advises)
  • Or at your own

    In the present employer option, you need to enter your correct ID of employment.

    In case of another company, you need to mention the reference of offer letter, offer ID or job ID.

Personal Details Section

In this section you need to mention the

  • Name, Gender, Previous Name (if any), Maiden Name of Mother, Father’s Name, Spouse’s Name, Date of Birth, Present Address, Permanent Address, Previous Addresses (if any), Contact Numbers of Residence, Office and Mobile, Email Address, Passport Details (place of issue, expiry date, number) – if applicable, PAN details- if applicable, Log-in details, User ID, Log-in Password, Transaction Password, question hint for resetting password, and answer for hint question.
  • For accessing your profile, you required login password. Transaction password is needed for updating profile.
  • After submitting this information, NSR website will accepts the details, prompt for rectification of errors – if any, and will generate an acknowledgement number. Keep a note of this number.
  • On your registered email address, you will receive an email mentioning your acknowledgement number, and further steps for finishing the process of registration.

Qualification Details

Academic qualification (from SSC onwards, Professional Qualifications, Technical Qualifications). You can write all your qualifications. If more rows are needed, you need to click on link “Enter more Qualifications”.

Career Information (Present and Past Employment Details)

  • Name of the Company

In the list if you are unable to find your present employer, then send an email at nsr@nsdl.co.in with details of your company. NSR update this list and informs you also.

In the case of previous employer, if the company which you work is not in the list, then you can manually enter it. For doing this, use the option “Not in the list”.

  • Employee Code (Mandatory)
  • Joined in (Month/Year)
  • Joined as (Designation)

  • Refer the appointment letter, if you don’t remember these details.
  • Address of the Company
  • Telephone Number (Mandatory for Present Employment)
  • Present Designation (For Present Employment)
  • Relieved in (Month/Year)-Except for present employment.
  • Relieved As (Designation) – Except for present employment
  • Address option where the NSR card should be sent
  • After completion of registration, NSR sends you a photo card. You can select your NSR card delivery address among your present, permanent, or present employer office address.
  • Review the information entered by you and change any mistake
  • You require to click on “Submit & View” to review the details and change the same if needed.
  • Payment Mode

Payment of registration fee (rupees four hundred plus applicable taxes) for the registration and first year annual usage fee can be submit online using the credit card or by cash / DD at the Point of Service (POS).

  • Take printout of acknowledgement form created by NSR
  • Printing the acknowledgement form is mandatory.

Second Stage: Registration of Biometric AT Point of Service

  • For this you need to visit the POS (It may be also setup in your office, contact HR personnel). You need to carry:
  • Registration Fee (Rupees four hundred plus applicable taxes)
  • ID Proof: ID card of college (not more than one year old), Passport, Voter ID card, PAN Card, Driving License, and Employee ID Card etc.
  • Printed NSR acknowledgement form affixed with your passport size photograph and signed by you.
