E-Verify Income Tax Return using Aadhaar Card and EVC
After introduction ofnew system by the government to e-verify income tax return, it’s become easy for taxpayers to e-verify their income tax return with the help of Aadhaar card.
Previously, taxpayers were sending ITR-V (one page verification document) to the income tax department in Bangalore after submitting their tax return form on the e-filing website. Now, you can easily verify your income tax return online with the help of an electronic verification code (EVC).
An electronic verification code (EVC) is a 10 digit alphanumeric code received by the taxpayers on their registered mobile number at the time of e-verifying returns. You can easily generate EVC number through e-filing portal of income tax department. It can be done online only if your PAN card is linked with your Aadhaar card. This system helps in verifying the identity of the taxpayers. It includes individuals as well as HUF.
