CA Foundation Exam

Most of the commerce students have the ambition to become a CA. But CA is a tough course, where its easy to enter but difficult to exist. ICAI conducts the entrance examination, for checking the aptitude level and capability of students for performing the course proficiently.

Eligibility Criteria for CA Foundation Exam

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India or ICAI is the leading body of CA foundation course. This is the entry-level course for Chartered Accountancy. Candidates who are willing to become a Chartered Accountants (CA), need to pass 10+2 from any recognized university to become eligible to appear for CA foundation registration. For CA foundation exam a candidate needs to pass class 12 exam. Graduates or postgraduates’ students are not eligible to apply. Candidates who are eligible to apply for CA foundation exam are required to go for the registration process. All the registered candidates are required to go for study for a minimum of 4 months before appearing for the Foundation exam.

Documents required for CA Foundation Registration

Candidates need to keep the below documents ready for CA Foundation Registration 2020:

• Photograph of the candidates
• Scanned copy of candidate’s signature
• Attested copies of Class 10 mark sheet and Certificate
• Attested copies of Class 12 mark sheet and Certificate
• Attested copy of school leaving certificate
• Attested copy of Special Category Certificate (As applicable)
• Attested copy of any other Qualification Certificate (As applicable)

Note: Because of COVID-19 pandemic outbreak in the nation, ICAI has reorganized the May 2020 CA Foundation Exam to Nov 2020

Process of CA Foundation Registration

Candidates’ are required to follow the below steps for CA Foundation Registration 2020:

• Log onto ICAI website at icai.org
• Click on the option ‘‘Self Service Portal (SSP)’’
• Now select “New student enrolling for the first time”
• Proceed with the option “Click here”
• Now CA Foundation Registration form will appear. Candidates need to fill out the personal details section. One OTP needs to generate for verification purpose
• Candidates are now required to provide their qualification details. To proof, the authenticity of their qualification, self-attested copies of related proofs of the documents are required to be uploaded
• Candidates photograph and scanned signature need to be uploaded
• Now the fee for CA Foundation Registration needs to be paid
