Started by two entrepreneurs Mr. Himanshu Jain and Mr. Pulkit Jain, Legalraasta is known as one of the premier businesses in the capital city and offers complete service for the good and services registration and its return filing at a very nominal price. The firm is registered by Legal Raasta Technologies Pvt. Ltd and has a network of 100 plus professionals, which comprises of experienced Chartered Accountants, Company Secretaries, Lawyers, Cost Accountants, Chartered Engineers and Bankers. Also its founders are known to be an alma mater of prestigious institutes like IIT and ISB and have previously worked with some of the top consulting firms such as McKinsey. Considering that the firm is based on the technology driven platform, its mission is to provide the individuals, startups and small & medium sized enterprises with one click access for all their professional and legal needs and has competitors such as VakilSearch, Indiafilings and MyOnlineCA.

GST was first introduced on 1st July 2017 and implemented from Sept 2017. GST tax, also known as “One Nation One Tax” is known for its stringent deadlines and mandatory compliances. Back then though everyone was aware of how to go about it, LegalRaasta started to work on how to go about giving a GST ready solution to its customers. GST is one of the largest tax reforms in the history of India and as per the statistics and has impacted nearly 1 crore businesses across the country. GST was announced on 1st July 2017, its implementation came into effect from Sept 2017 is a consumption based tax which although related responsibilities such as payment collection and remittance of GST collection to the government was and is to be borne by the businesses and thus it was important for the businesses to take necessary and required steps in order to comply with the GST mandates such as obtaining GST registration, creating GST compliant invoice formats, upgrade or introduce suitable accounting software and last but not the least to map all goods and services to HSN or SAC code and update GST rates in billing systems. With the implementation of GST, the businesses were also expected to file their GST returns namely GSTR-1, GSTR-2 and GSTR-3.

In order to come up with a GST ready solution and provide GST compliance software for small and medium enterprises and accountants, it has raised fund of Rs 32 crore from an early stage investment firm and is working to use the raised fund for the business development and to make itself compliant with GST mandates, it has registered itself as an application service provider with the government’s GST network which allows the business owners to obtain GST registration and file their monthly GST returns with few clicks. And just to ensure that they are matching the right steps with already established players, Legalraasta has also applied as a GST Suvidha provider (GSP) with the aim to target small and medium sized enterprises with an annual turnover of Rs 100 – 150 crores.
