What Is 5S Certificate?

5S is one of the most practiced methods implemented by the organization in order to organize their work space. 5S contains a list of words which describes how to organize a work space. Meaning of 5’S

5S comprises of five Japanese words which helps in making organization a perfect place to work

Sort/Seiri (Japanese word)

While sitting at a desk and working, you will find many items lying here and there on your desk which are of no use. Remove those items from your desk and make your desk a better place to work. Removing unnecessary tools, material from your desk is first step towards organizing your work place.

Store/Seiton (Japanese word)

The second word which helps in making your organization a better place to work is “Store”. Organize all your data, files, tools, equipment’s, materials as well as resources in such a way that it is easily available for use, every time you want to use it. Label all your tools, equipment’s and storage locations.

Shine/Seiso (Japanese word)
